Gabriel never followed in his older brother's footsteps. When his brother left home to pursue his interests, Gabriel helped his aging parents with their shuttle business. Yet secretly, Gabriel wanted nothing more than to join his brother, whom he practically worshipped. When his brother returned in disgrace, Gabriel was glad to have his brother close again, but saddened that he could no longer live vicariously through his adventures.

When the Monkeys offered both Marcus and Gabriel a spot in their roster, Gabriel eagerly joined, determined that he would not be left behind this time. Without formal training his skills are not up to par with his brother's, but he is better than most rookie pilots given his years of experience piloting deep space shuttles.
