While pursuing Target #66 on 8 April 3068, our forces were engaged by a company-sized mercenary unit known as the Flaming Devil Monkeys in the desolate Scales of the Dragonet Mountains. We believe that this unit was hired on a short-term basis to assist in the extraction of Target #66. Our forces were able to down five of the mercenaries' mechs while sustaining only moderate casualities. We were also able to destroy the hover transport believed at the time to be carrying Target #66. It appears that our intel was incorrect however, as Target #66 is clearly still at large. We believe that the hover transport was in fact a decoy. I have taken necessary measures to correct this intelligence failure. It will not happen again.
Despite the failure of the mission, we did manage to capture one of the mercenary pilots. Her name is Desiree Sheikh and based on her pyschological profile, I feel that she would make an excellent candidate. I am forwarding her profile and my recommendations along with this report.
